O que é a credenciamento NVLAP?
NVLAP – Stands for National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program. The National Voluntary Accreditation Program operates as an independent third party whose purpose is to accredit testing and calibration laboratories. The National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST Handbook 150 sets forth the procedures and requirements a laboratory must meet to be accredited. Under the NAVLAP program a laboratory must demonstrate that they operate an appropriate management system. In addition they must demonstrate they are technically competent, and are able to generate technically valid results. The program provides an unbiased third-party evaluation and recognition of performance, as well as technical competence.

International standards-based accreditation programs, such as NVLAP, rely on a uniform recognized approach to determine competence, promote mutual recognition among accrediting bodies, and support increased acceptance of high quality export goods in international markets. NVLAP, because of its close working relationship with the NIST laboratories, is widely recognized and respected as a technically sound and rigorous accreditation program. Customers respect an independently administered, internationally recognized accreditation program. This in turn provides a more organized operating environment and constancy across their suppliers. This is especially true in the Pharmaceutical industry. All others being equal, an accredited laboratory will obtain the business before non-accredited laboratory.
What is the NVLAP accreditation process for a Quality Management System?
A company’s Quality Management Systems or QMS defines the organization’s policies, procedures and internal requirements. These ensure customer requirements are met and that regulatory and industry requirements are consistently met. This results in higher customer satisfaction and reduces organizational risk.
The QMS includes:
- A review of Customer contracts.
- Evaluation of Employee training Programs.
- Inspection of Production and delivery of products and services.
- Selection and management of suppliers.
- Internal quality audits.
- Monitoring and measuring effectiveness.
- Continual improvement.
- Corrective and Preventative Action.
- Work Instruction to conduct technical validation or product.
