The accuracy of Temperature Correction Vs Temperature control on samples that deviate from pure water and sucrose based samples.
Tested: Distilled Water, Cranberry Juice, Ethylene Glycol, and Engine Oil, all tested at 20°C, 25°C and 60°C.
Temperature Correction is then used to correct each sample tested, back to 20°C. Temperature control is also employed and results are compared.
Conclusion: Temperature Control is the only way to accurately measure refractive index (RI) and Brix.
Temperature CORRECTION can be used to substitute for temperature control but only in limited circumstances. The further a sample deviates from sugar and water the less reliable temperature correction methods become.
