Laboratory Accuracy Everywhere You Need to Measure
Unmatched Capabilities in a Fully Portable, Handheld Density Meter
Temperature Controlled Measurements at 20° and 25°C
The problem with most portable Density Meters is they drift because they do not control temperature. All Density Meter measurements are highly sensitive to temperature and mathematically correcting for temperature may not be good enough for some applications. Only temperature control will result in the accuracy many users require.
The Rudolph DDM 29 Handheld Density Meter utilizes powerful and compact Peltier technology. Control of the sample temperature for precise heating and cooling to ensure stable and accurate measurements at either 20 or 25°C.
Rugged Stainless Steel Double U-Tube for unmatched accuracy, durability, and weight reduction
The Rudolph DDM29 portable density meter uses a 316 Stainless Steel, Double U-Tube instead of a simple glass U-Tube. This new design is durable and corrosion resistant. Stainless Steel is preferable for customers who are tired of replacing glass U-Tubes in other handheld brands.
The Double U-Tube design allows for handheld accuracy and rapid measurement speed. Demonstrating 3 decimal place measurement readings in 30 seconds, and 4 decimal measurements in 60 seconds.
User friendly GUI and Bright, Back Lit,Touch Screen Display
Extremely easy to use Graphic User Interface (GUI) and the availability of 10 different Languages on a brightly lit 7 inch(128mm) touch screen makes this the most User Friendly Density Meter in the market today. The interface is a bright LED touchscreen, with a large easy to navigate GUI. No more difficulties reading measurements in bright or dark environments.
Portability and Flexibility
The DDM29 gives you true portability. Powered by a fast-charging Lithium-Ion battery, it’s ready wherever you need it—receiving docks, terminals, pipelines, cargo ships, or the production floor. Each battery fully charges in about 2 hours and provides 2–4 hours of operation, depending on usage level.
For nonstop performance, the DDM29 includes a charging station and two batteries, so you can keep one in use while the other charges ensuring continuous, hassle-free operation.
Laboratory Accuracy – Everywhere You Need to Measure
Most Portable Handheld Density Meters use temperature correction and publish 2 or 3 digit accuracy which is very prone to drift. The DDM29 uses Peltier Temperature Control, which eliminates drift and provides accuracy to the 4th decimal place. Laboratory accuracy in the DDM29 reduces testing of materials in the main Lab. Testing can now be done accurately in the receiving dock, formulations area, or where ever measurements are needed
The DDM29 is compliant with the following methods:
ASTM D7777 Standard Test Method for Density, Relative Density, or API Gravity of Liquid Petroleum by Portable Digital Density Meter
ISO 15212-1:1998 Oscillation-type density meters. Part 1: Laboratory instruments
IP 559 Determination of density of middle distillate fuels – Handheld oscillating U-tube density meter method.
Rudolph is a long time participant in ASTM Petroleum Testing, Proficiency Testing Programs.

Industry Applications For Handheld Density Meters
DDM29 Density Meter Data Capacity Validation
Validated for High-Volume Measurement Data
The DDM29 Density Meter is designed to support busy laboratories, production teams, and quality control environments that generate large volumes of measurement data. To confirm reliable performance in demanding operating conditions, the DDm29 has been validated with a 50,000-record measurement dataset across core data-management functions.
Testing confirmed dependable operation across measurement storage, record retrieval, filtering, exporting, printing, and report generation. For customers who need confidence in long-term data handling, the DDM29 provides a practical, validated solution for managing high-volume measurement workflows.
Why Data Capacity Matters
In regulated and high-throughput environments, measurement data must remain accessible, organized, and reliable. As testing volume increases, users need an instrument that can do more than simply capture results. They need a system that supports efficient review, export, reporting, and record retention.
The DDM29 Density Meter helps teams maintain confidence in their data by supporting high-volume record management while preserving data completeness and output integrity.
Validated DDM29 Density Meter Data-Management Capabilities
The DDM29 Density Meter was validated using 50,000 measurement records. Key data-management functions were tested and confirmed to operate successfully, including:
- Measurement record storage
- Historical data retrieval
- Record filtering
- Data export
- Print output
- Report generation
This validation gives customers confidence that the DDM29 can support demanding workflows where large numbers of measurements are created, reviewed, and archived over time.
Built for Demanding Quality and Production Workflows
The DDM29 is well suited for teams that rely on frequent refractometer testing as part of daily quality checks, production monitoring, incoming material inspection, formulation review, or laboratory analysis.
By validating performance with a large measurement dataset, the DDM29 demonstrates its ability to support environments where data volume grows quickly and where historical measurement access remains important.
Reliable Export and Archiving Support
For high-volume users, routine data export and archiving are important parts of good data-management practice. The DDM29 supports practical export workflows through WiFi Share and USB options, helping users transfer records for external storage, documentation, and audit support.
These export options make it easier for teams to keep measurement records organized while supporting internal quality systems and long-term record retention practices.
