One of the most successful policies introduced by Rudolph is our 20-Year Support Guarantee.

Customers want to buy “quality” products, but the word quality is often overused and poorly defined. Any manufacturer can label a product as “high quality,” regardless of actual long-term value. The 20-Year Support Guarantee has made Rudolph’s commitment tangible and meaningful.

What’s New for 2026

Beginning in 2026, Rudolph will build on this commitment by offering up to a 3-year warranty on qualifying laboratory measuring instruments.

A formal press release is being prepared and will be provided for you to share with customers at your discretion. This document is intended to explain the mechanics of the program so you can communicate it accurately and confidently.

Instrument Categories & Warranty Coverage

The press release refers specifically to laboratory measuring instruments. This wording is intentional and reflects the following exclusions and differences:

Laboratory Measuring Instruments: Eligible for up to 3 years warranty

Handheld Instruments: Warranty remains 1 year

Automation Systems: Warranty increases from 1 year to 2 years

(Note: Individual instruments within an automation system still qualify for 3 years.)

What “Up to 3 Years” Means

Because the Rudolph website has worldwide reach, we must use language that works across different regional warranty practices. The warranty structure is as follows:

Year 1:

Standard warranty included on all instruments.

Year 2:

An additional year is granted when a web registration form is completed.

• Applies to laboratory measuring instruments only

• Does not apply to handheld instruments or automation systems

Year 3

An additional year is granted when a service contract is signed within 3 months of purchase.

• Either the distributor or the customer must notify Rudolph that the service contract is in place.

International Considerations

We recognize that, internationally, extended warrantiesare shared responsibilities:

• Rudolph provides parts

• Distributors provide labor

This is why the warranty is described as “up to 3 years.” If you choose not to apply extended warranty coverage in your country, you are not obligated to do so.

Based on our research:

•Only one competitor, offers a 3-year warranty on select instruments

• Most competitors offer 1 year, with some offering 2 years.
