Histórico
RUDOLPH RESEARCH ANALYTICAL CORPORATION
Histórico
The company was founded in 1930 under the name OC Rudolph and Sons, importing optics and other scientific instrumentation manufactured in Europe. Importation from Europe was not possible during or after World War II. Consequently, the company began to custom design and manufacture optical instrumentation for universities and laboratories including manual polarimeters and saccharimeters. Since that time, the company has been engaged in research, design, manufacture, sales and service of products utilizing light as a measurement medium.
In 1970, the company changed its name from O.C. Rudolph & Sons, Inc. to Rudolph Research Corporation. The name was changed to reflect the modern and innovative philosophies of the company under the leadership of Dr. Richard F. Spanier.
Rudolph Research Corporation grew rapidly manufacturing automatic ellipsometers and accessories for the semi-conductor industry. Various models of these instruments are used in pure and applied research by universities, independent laboratories, government laboratories and industry. In addition, Rudolph Research developed a spectroscopic ellipsometer which finds widespread application in the semiconductor/integrated circuit industry where the measurement of film thickness in the angstrom region is important.
Status atual
In May of 1996, Rudolph Research, before going Public on the NASDAQ, formed a new independent corporation, Rudolph Research Analytical, which took over responsibility for all aspects of sales, service and the manufacture of the Autopol® Line of Polarimeters, Saccharimeters, parts and accessories.
In March of 1999, Rudolph introduced the first of its J Series of Automatic Refractometers. Like all Rudolph products, this new line of instruments was developed and manufactured in the USA.
In March of 2007, Rudolph introduced the DDM 2911 Automatic Density Meter featuring Patented VideoView™ technology. Rudolph continues to expand and improve its new line of density meters.
In May of 2010, Rudolph received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for Rudolph’s Quartz Control Plate Laboratory. This accreditation testifies to Rudolph’s consistent effort to improve and serve our customers better.
In March of 2013, Rudolph introduced the R837 AutoFlex® Automated Sampling System. This system brought many new features to market allowing customers to operate in both pressure and suction mode while offering the small footprint of a carousel combined with the flexibility of custom racks and bottles.
In June of 2013, Rudolph received ISO 9001 certification for its Quartz Plate Laboratory. This accreditation testifies to Rudolph’s constant effort to improve its manufacturing processes and provide its customers with the most advanced products in the market place.
In September of 2013, Rudolph introduced the VeriLinkRx®, this instrument was designed to address the markets of Drug Diversion and Total Parental Nutrition.
In March of 2016, Rudolph received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for Rudolph Density Meter Calibration. This expanded scope show’s Rudolph’s commitment to increasing our quality processes throughout the organization.
In September of 2016, Rudolph introduced the AlcoTest-RI®. By combining a TTB Approved Density Meter and Flow Through Refractometer Optics Module combined with Chemometric software that resolved the obscuration problem caused by sugar and flavors in alcoholic beverages, this solution greatly reduces the need for time consuming distillations when measuring proof of obscured spirits, wines, and alcoholic beverages.
In November of 2019, Rudolph received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for Rudolph Polarimeter Calibration. This expanded scope continues to show’s Rudolph’s commitment to continual improvement.
In April of 2020, Rudolph expanded our ISO 9001 scope: Manufacture, Calibration, Service, Instrumentation and Software across product lines: Polarimeter, Density Meter, Refractometer and Automation, Quartz Plate.
Rudolph Standards Laboratory has been established to produce liquid calibration standards. In April of 2021, Rudolph further expanded our ISO 9001 scope to include Liquid Reference Standards.
In March 2022, Rudolph acquired Baddley Chemical, the manufacturer of the Octapol® Sugar Clarifier. This acquisition secured the continued availability of Octapol® and integrated its production and distribution into Rudolph’s global operations, further strengthening Rudolph’s offerings in the sugar industry.
In May 2022, Rudolph acquired the assets of Rudolph Instruments, including the DigiPol® line of Polarimeters. This acquisition unified the market under a single “Rudolph” polarimeter brand.
In November, 2024, Rudolph further expanded our ISO/IEC 17025 for Liquid Standards and Temperature Calibration. This enabled the ability to self-calibrate our temperature devices and can offer recalibration services for our Polarimeter and new Refractometer Temperature devices.
In 2025, we expanded our portfolio with handheld versions of the Refractometer and Density Meter, delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions for our customers.
