University Polarimeter user prefers Digital Automatic Instrument from Rudolph Research Analytical
Dear Richard, We have been very pleased with the performance of the Rudolph Polarimeter(s) that we currently have available to researchers in the School of Pharmacy. Our department purchased an Autopol IV (Digital) several years ago, and the Natural Products Center recently replaced another brand. We have considered (Another Brand) but their post-sales “help” was terrible. We learned the hard way when (Another Brand) CD-ORD unit was purchased several years ago—it is basically collecting dust.
We like the Rudolph polarimeters—they are very robust—I think the stainless steel jacketed cells are excellent, particularly with over 50 researchers using the unit. They are less prone to getting broken. We have had scientists comment on the good reproducibility, particularly from month to month.
The bottom line is that our School of Pharmacy has fully converted to Rudolph, based on specifications, price, and support. We have been very pleased with our purchases.
